2008>Brad Colesa won the inaugural PBA Experience Championship in 2008. During 2007-2008, over 40 MTBA bowlers took advantage of the USBC and PBA sponsored program that gives players a taste of pro lane conditions.

2008>Most days you'll find Lakeview Lanes Bowling Center manager Chris Wilson behind the counter but once in a while he gets his chance to show off on the lanes too. Last month, he did just that when he rolled a 768 series and also earned the USBC plaque for throwing 11 strikes-in-a-Row.
2008>Most area residents know Sax Appeal Entertainment's David "Kooj" Kujat because of his musical talent. The local musician, who normally shines on stage was recently a bowling star too. At Kautz Shore Lanes, David strung together scores of 215-237-245 for a fantastic 697 series.
2009>The 2009-2010 Match Game Championship belongs to David Klaas. Klaas, seeded in the fifth position after the qualifying rounds, went 3-0 in Matchplay including a five-pin victory over defending champion Brian Fazio in the Final match.
2008>Del Shea paced all bowlers in 2007-08 with a composite avg of 231. The right-hander competed in three MTBA leagues. He rolled 200 total games including 60 at Lakeview Lanes where he averaged 242 in the Monday Men's League.

2009>Jeff Butler, from Croswell, will long remember his bowling exploits of February 18, 2009. It was on that day that the 38-year-old right-hander rolled a 731 series that featured a perfect game. Jeff opened the day with the 300 game and followed up with 226 and 205.
2008>Jeff Dicus, of Croswell, and his mates at Cotterman Company lead the pack at Kautz Shore Lanes' Huron Shores League. Six weeks into the season, Dicus has topped the 700 series mark twice and his 214 average has helped his team open an early lead in the standings.
2008>Jeff Krauss and Melissa LeGault were recently honored upon the conclusion of Lakeview Lanes PBA Experience League. LeGault won League High Average (203.00) and Series honors (675) helping the duo capture the overall League Doubles Championship.
2008>Jeremy Bloor, above, started the 2008-09 season off in style at Lakeview Lanes Monday Men's League. The 24-year-old lefty from Marlette rolled his first career 300 in the first game of the year. He followed his 'perfecto' with 258-199 for a fantastic 757 series.
2008>When Mark Hartman, (L), shown here with his teammate Jeremy McClellan, flashed the "Thumbs Up" sign at a recent Croswell Wesleyan Church outing, he was either proclaiming his happiness or  showing off the thumb that helped him shoot 116. We're not sure.
2008>Only a solid 10-pin in the 7th frame of game one kept Charmont Lanes kegler James Smithson from perfection recently. The 68 year-old right-hander opened his Merchant League set with 279 and followed-up with 210 and 219 for a league high series of 708.

2008>Justin Dooley, of Sandusky, made history of sorts at Liberty Lanes this month when he rolled the first perfect game on the new synthetic lanes. The 27-year-old, who bowls in the Tuesday Night Men's League, opened his session with the 300 and finished with a 700 series right on the nose.
2009>Why is this man smiling? It's because he just bowled 300. Mark Salvatore, of Croswell, earned his ring from the USBC plus won a free golf membership from Lakeview Hills Country Club by stringing together 12 strikes-in-a-row during league play at the center.
2008>Matt Holbrook was recently honored at Lakeview Lanes PBA Experience League. Holbrook rolled a League High Game of 259 on the Viper pattern.
2008>It was in the 1985-86 season that Mark Navarro was added to Liberty Lanes Wall-of-Fame. His hair is now thinner, his beard now grey but the 50-year-old's passion for bowling has not diminished. Here he smiles and points to the photo that was taken after he rolled the first-ever 300 at Liberty.

2008>Mark Schuman wasted no time earning an award in 2008-09. On week one at Liberty Lanes' Tuesday Night Men League, the right-hander from Yale rolled the first 11 strikes before leaving two pins on the last shot and settling for 298.
2008>Ryan Pritchett of Peck proudly displays the hardware he received for winning the 2007-08  Mid-Thumb Bowling Association Singles Championship. Pritchett won the Handicap Division with an outstanding 842 series.
2008>Paul Garza, of Peck has long been one of the area's most active and consistent bowlers. In the past three years, the right-hander rolled 674 games and averaged a composite 210.17. So far in 2008, the 64-year-old is averaging 225+ at both Liberty Lanes and Lakeview Lanes.
2008>Phil Baglio, of Lexington, started his bowling career as a pinsetter in Windsor, Ontario back in the early 50's. Fifty-plus years later he's still going strong. He posted a career-best in 2007-08 when he averaged a composite 203 over 130 games in two MTBA leagues.

2009>The father and son team of Robert (L) and Eric Gainor have both had fine seasons in 2008-09. Both have qualified for the SCN Bowler of the Year tournament. Eric has flirted with a 200 average all season while Robert, not to be outdone, recently posted his high series of the year. (705)
2009>Ronald Cramer was still all smiles even though a 10-pin on the last shot foiled his recent bid for perfection. The 21-year-old right-hander from Sandusky, bowling in the Tuesday Night Men's League at Liberty Lanes, had to settle for 299 and a 695 series.
2008>MTBA Board member Scott Geiser stole the show recently during the Blue Water Men's League at Kautz Shore Lanes. The right-hander from Croswell opened the evening's festivities by rolling the first 17 strikes. His game one perfecto was the third of his career.
2008>Scott Samuelson, 35, of Croswell, exploded past his 190 league average earlier this month with a fine 706 set. Rolling for Duffy's Bar & Grill, the right-hander used a big 269 game to put himself over the top. it was his first 700+ series of the season.
2008>"All hail the first-half champs!" is what the crew from Steiss' Inn had hoped to hear from their fellow Huron Shores League bowling buddies after capturing the first-half crown but if you believe their version of events, the best they got was a few "You stinks" and a couple "Get losts".
2008>Steve Rayba, above, is the reigning Kautz Shore Lanes Bowler of the Year. The 31-year-old southpaw from Lexington earned the honor by winning the season's end tournament with scores of  226-233-249 (708).

2009>Tim Maskell, of Burtchville led the way recently at Kautz Shore Lanes when he rolled his first 700 series of the season. At one point, beginning in the middle of game one, the 42-year-old right-hander strung together15 straight strikes. He finished the night with a 709 series.
2008>Troy Irwin, of Lexington, exploded past his previous high scores recently. Irwin, a member of Lakeview's Friday Night Mixed League rolled games of 256-258 before closing the night with his first 300. Irwin, who prior to this night had never rolled a 700 series, can now boast a high set of 814.
Tom Fulcher (L), Joe Barrons and Ryan Bennett (R), from Charmont Lanes are "Two-and-a-Half Men". Barrons recently blasted 244, 201 enroute to a 588 series. Fulcher recently soared past his 130 average with his first 200 game and 500 series while Bennett twice cracked the 600 series.

2010>Perennial All-Star Gary Clark struck gold again recently when he strung together big games of 236-279-287 to post an 802 total.
2009>Travis Clark (L) and Brian Fazio were the last two  Match Game bowlers standing out the 32 who battled in Qualifying and Head-to-Head Match play competition on PBA lane conditions. In the end, it was Fazio who used a late double to claim a 22-pin victory and the title.

2010>Tom Sherman, (L) and Tony Weigert were top keglers at Liberty Lanes recently. Sherman rolled a perfect game on the December 9th first shift while Weigert did the same on the late league. Weigert also came back on the Friday league and shot back-to-back 290's enroute to 773. Congrats guys!
2010>Travis Clark (L) defeated Fred Kautz in the final match to claim the 2010-2011 MTBA Match Game Singles title. Clark, who bowls on the Saginaw Valley University bowling team qualified third and went 3-0 in head-to-head competition to earn the crown.
